Healthy Hiring

Ask any pharmaceutical or biotechnology company developing new products and they will say that the start-to-finish execution of a successful clinical trial is no simple endeavour. Hundreds of factors must be considered and thousands of individual tasks need to be coordinated – all within the confines of a complex web of legal mandates and compliance requirements. There are so many prerequisite ‘to-do’ items just to gain permission to begin a trial; it is no wonder that a practical and seemingly simple task like sourcing the necessary equipment for the trial frequently finds its way to the bottom of the project management plan. The phrase “seemingly simple task” was purposely chosen because closer investigation reveals that much more goes into procuring equipment for clinical trials than one might at first suspect. Failure to consider a number of not-soobvious factors could result in negative consequences on a trial, ranging from skewed results to unwelcome delays – in extreme cases, it could bring the trial to an abrupt halt.

Renting Clinical Equipment

Several elements should be considered when renting clinical equipment, including common challenges, best practices, and anticipated trends. It is the job of all clinical trial site management professionals to expand their perception of what trial equipment procurement really encompasses and to make it a higher priority in the trial management pecking order.

Running Better Trials Taking an Intelligent Monitoring Approach

Bioclinica

When it comes to implementing a risk-based monitoring program, it is not just about reducing monitoring visits and doing less Source Document Verification (SDV). It’s about bringing together your people, a solid process, and the right technology to run a better trial. Success with risk-based monitoring requires the ability to make sense of the thousands, if not millions, of data points captured by multiple disparate sources in a clinical trial. With the sheer volume of data generated on a daily basis comes complexity. How does one make sense of it all? Information overload burdens even the most experienced study teams who struggle to understand which data matters most and what it means.
