Automatic Improvements

Despite the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) providing the means to automate inventory management processes, many healthcare facilities still rely on manual approaches. These usually take the form of databases, although some organisations still have not progressed past paper-based records. Regardless of the technique, manual inventory management is time-consuming and prone to errors. When Randall Lipps’ daughter required hospital treatment, he was shocked by the inefficiency of the hospital staff. This led to him founding Omnicell in 1992 so that hospitals could automate their inventory management processes, allowing clinicians to spend more time directly caring for patients.
