Digital Printing for Pharmaceutical Packaging - A Customer's Perspective

As digital printing becomes a more viable option for packaging, printing vendors are looking to the pharmaceutical industry as a lucrative market. There are several reasons why digital printing is suitable for pharmaceutical packaging:

The option of quick turnaround for printed materials is
especially attractive in an industry which is under increasing
pressure to bring products to launch

Frequent changes to packaging make any options which
reduce the inventory of printed materials very advantageous

Rapid safety changes are often necessary for
pharmaceutical products

While the cost of printed materials is not a major portion
of the cost of the product for large orders of pharmaceutical
products, this is not always true for short run, small volume
products.

Micro dosing pumps in global use against COVID-19

(PresseBox) ( Schwerin, 24.06.20 ) Automated analysis devices are the essential basis for extensive test capacities for the corona virus. Through parallel and faster processes, automation significantly increases the number of tests, saves manpower and ensures process reliability. For sample preparation for SARS-CoV-2, a few microliters of a solution of chemicals and enzymes are dosed. Micro annular gear pumps of the low pressure series from HNP Mikrosysteme perform this demanding task with highest precision and process reliability. The minimum dosing quantity is 0.25 Ál, the pumps have a very small footprint and can be easily integrated into control systems. Fully automated analysis devices can contain up to sixteen dosing pumps and can handle up to 4,000 samples in 24 hours.

Cleaning Validation: What do you need to consider to ensure a successful outcome?

RSSL

Cross contamination must be avoided in the Pharmaceutical industry at all costs and successful cleaning validation ensures that patients are not put at risk due to cross contamination. The process can be divided into a number of sections each of which must be fully understood and areas of concern addressed to ensure a successful outcome across the entire process. This spans both the manufacturing and subsequent analytical and microbological support. The data used to confirm a positive/successful cleaning validation is underpinned by the results of validated analytical methods. It is essential that these results are truly representative as patient safety is based upon the absence of equipment residues. So what are those areas of concern, what affects your ability to get a successful outcome and what do you need to consider when carrying out a Cleaning Validation exercise?
