SCA Cool Logistics
Forming part of the SCA Packaging Group, SCA Cool Logistics is focused on delivering temperature control packaging solutions to meet all customer requirements. We are based in the UK and manufacture products across Europe, enabling the offer of a swift supply response to all customers.
SCA Cool Logistics works predominantly on solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, handling the needs of a wide range of customers, from small “start-up” biotech companies to multi-national pharmaceutical corporations. This requires a flexible approach to design and supply, with a strong understanding of the differing levels of regulatory restriction and supply chain complexity.
The heart of our business is a design focus and with the largest test facility in Europe, SCA Cool Logistics has 23 environmental test chambers from which temperature control packaging can be developed and qualified to meet our customers’ needs. Our partnership with ThermoSafe Brands means we are the world’s leading supplier of insulated shipping systems designed specifically for temperature sensitive products.
The growing requirement for secure temperature control packaging has led to an ambitious growth strategy at SCA Cool Logistics. We have increased our manufacturing capabilities with the addition of facilities in Scotland, Singapore and the CzechRepublic enabling us to begin manufacturing many of the supporting Thermosafe brand products.
Through this expansion SCA Cool Logistics will be able to strengthen its offering of a more localised supply to a significant number of the top twenty pharmaceutical companies. 2007 will also bring the prospect of further manufacturing, storage and distribution opportunities within the Republic of Ireland and the Netherlands. Local supply is a key focus of SCA Cool Logistics and with the support of over 200 SCA sites across Europe this is now a possibility.
To enable a continued level of high quality products and services SCA Cool Logistics is ISO and OHSAS accredited and has implemented international standardisation in ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management, ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management and British standardisation in OHSAS 18001:1999 Health and Safety Management. This means we design and manufacture our products within an environment based on internationally recognised and accepted standards whilst working towards operating in an ethical, sustainable and safe manner, giving our customers the assurance that SCA Cool Logistics provides quality, safety and reliability.
The SCA Cool Logistics range of products is extremely comprehensive, offering over 150 standard sizes of insulated containers in a variety of materials, over 100 standard sizes of cool packs in five different material presentations as well as innovative new technologies such as the NanoCool evaporative cooling solution. This massive range of products enables us to create packaging solutions that accurately fit each customer’s requirement and support the implementation of the solutions through a full qualification process. SCA Cool Logistics understand that each customer’s requirement differs and that a temperature control package should fit to the product’s requirement and not the other way around.
