Braun OEM Division offers a wide range of products and services for the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. System-built Solutions

B. Braun OEM has the expertise in medical sciences, pharmacy, product development, production, law, packaging and logistics. This provides complete outsourcing knowledge to the customers. The OEM project management teams are the experts for individual customer ideas. The principal activities within customer projects are product variation and combination, pharmaceutical contract manufacturing and common development. Along with the additional support like analytical services, regulatory support and a professional customer and logistic service B. Braun OEM is able to provide system-built solutions for a successful business. 

Quality Assurance and Compliance

With more than 40 production sites and offices in over 50 countries customers benefit from direct global access. When using OEM’s range of services it is always good to know that they adhere to international quality standards. Production sites are certified according to international quality standards. The products themselves are incorporated in a proven quality assurance system. The CE certificate is a further proof of the high quality of the products.

Pharmaceutical Contract Manufacturing

Contract manufacturing means production and filling of pharmaceuticals according to customer specifications. The filling possibilities include solutions for irrigation, infusion therapy and volume replacement as well as injectables and anaesthetics. We also fill dermatological products like creams, gels and pomades. B. Braun OEM has an in-depth knowledge in the production of drugs from aqueous solutions to lipid emulsions. Partnering with OEM offers innovative technologies including system components and different container types. The container choice includes bottles, ampoules, vials, tubes, bags, multi-chamber bags. And it does not stop there – the broad range of medical devices acts as a complement to the entire drug application system. Within the contract manufacturing service, OEM provides additional support:

  • analytical services: compatibility and stability studies
  • galenic development support: galenic preparations in hydrous solutions and lipid emulsions
  •  pilot batch production: clinical trials pilot batch, placebo batch production including documentation
  • private label: production of labels imprints and wrappings according to customer specification
  • compatibility: ConComp database is a unique source of information for the compatibility of drugs, container materials and IV solutions

Product variation and combination

OEM provides standard products assembled in customized kits and products with modified characteristics. We back this up with label, imprints and wrappings each tailored to customer specifications. Another business area is the packaging of customized kits and procedure sets. 

Common Development

In addition to the design and manufacturing of medical products and prototypes, we also provide support in the development of galenic preparations in hydrous solutions and lipid emulsions.
