ACHEMA 2018

ACHEMA_2018

11-15 June 2018
Messe Frankfurt GmbH

New at ACHEMA 2018: focus on chemical and pharma logistics

ACHEMA is the world forum for the process industries, but also an integral part of the trade show calendar of companies specializing in pharma packaging. Every three years 3,800 exhibitors and 170,000 visitors gather in Frankfurt/Main, Germany for the trade show that features everything you need to furnish a chemical or pharma production plant.

Due to the high demand there will be an additional 4.000 m≤ hall for the exhibition group pharmaceutical, packaging and storing techniques in 2018. This hall will also be the home of the Logistics Hotspot, the epicenter of the focal topic Chemical and Pharma Logistics. This special exhibition zone is dedicated to logistics companies specializing in chemical and pharma logistics and covers the whole supply chain from

  • warehousing
  • intralogistics
  • tracking and tracing
  • temperature controlled transport to
  • intermodal transport

The focal topic chemical and pharma logistics comes into play where the logistics become special because chemicals and pharmaceuticals are special products. It starts with temperature sensitive goods and doesnít stop at hazardous materials.

Intralogistics within a factory are the responsibility of the company, but inbound and outbound transport is increasingly delegated to service providers. These are more and more becoming system partners as digitization leads to changes in supply change management and distribution, too. Many links of this value chain are not yet present at ACHEMA, although they are a logical continuation of packaging topics, a classic at ACHEMA. The Logistics Hotspot opens up this new topic; embedded in the exhibition there is a presentation stage where talks about the latest developments in logistics will be held throughout the week.

Key to Outsourcing Method Development and Validation: A Pragmatic Approach

RSSL

In an industry that is seeing an increasing level of work being outsourced, the Contract Research Organisation (CRO) of choice needs to have proven experience in both the pragmatism and flexibility of the method developerís mind set and a regulatory background in validation. As companies are focussing on achieving ever shorter times of drug to market, it is vital that a tailored, pragmatic approach is adopted when engaging in both method development and validation activities for an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) or drug product (DP). Although methods still require a high degree of robustness, the overall strategy should encompass a full evaluation of the regulatory requirements applicable to the particular phase of the drug life-cycle; this is pivotal in Key to Outsourcing Method Development and Validation A Pragmatic Approach order to ensure a successful regulatory submission, where the applicant must demonstrate suitable validation of all methods used to support the filing.
