A View from the Bench

Choosing the right base material for bioengineering is not an easy job. A plethora of materials are to be considered, including alginates, cellulose, and gelatin, each with a specific set of benefits and drawbacks. Moreover, for many biomedical applications, low endotoxin biomaterials are required. However, what if the endotoxins could be removed that have proven to be a complication in many applications where gelatin would otherwise be the preferred material?
