Leveraging Health Data to Support Patient Care

Epidemiological data are rapidly changing perceptions of the COVID-19 pandemic, from its arrival in Europe – potentially many months earlier than January 2020 – to the effects of different lockdown and treatment regimes globally and their implications for long-term patient health.

With clinical data increasingly revealing a significant impact on health outcomes of vulnerable patients with long-term conditions (LTC) who may be self-isolating, not following their normal routine of medical appointments and prescription management, concerns have risen regarding the risk of aggravation of disease and another spike in hospital admissions for critical but non-COVID patients.

It is these real-world data that can now be applied to support patient care during and beyond COVID-19. From helping clinicians to prioritise care, facilitating global collaboration to improve COVID-19 treatments, and, critically, enabling health authorities to better understand the signs that may point to another spike in COVID-19, or prevent the collateral effect on chronic conditions and respond appropriately.

Driving ROI: The Case for Investing in Contract & Site Regulatory Document Management Services

DrugDev

With tight timelines and complicated regulatory documentation requirements, getting a clinical trial up and running quickly is easier said than done. Key milestones can be achieved only after the successful negotiation of clinical trial agreements and completion of essential regulatory documents. Many clinical trials are hindered by inefficient, labor-intensive processes. Prolonged, inefficient activation can hamper investigator satisfaction and, ultimately, have a negative bottom-line impact for sponsors and CROs. In addition, the Sunshine Act is heightening the importance of financial disclosure in clinical trials. Without a robust financial disclosure strategy, sponsors cannot ensure that physician self-reported financial disclosure data are aligned with the payment data being reported through the Sunshine Act, increasing financial and regulatory risk.
