| Three years ago, at the height of biotech's popularity on Wall Street, the promise of personalised medicine was just emerging. In 2000, only a handful of companies - most notably the then leader of the genomics pack, Millennium Pharmaceuticals - billed themselves as participants in the business of personalised medicine. Since that time, the promise has evolved into a reality with the advent of Genentech's Herceptin and Novartis' Gleevec - both targeted cancer therapies that work very well for patients with the right molecular profile. |
