This dynamic event in the hotbed of Scandinavian biotechnology is a unique concept in bio cluster collaboration, essentially Swedish in origin and hosted for the first time in Southern Sweden. BiotechArena is a joint project, organised by two strong bio regions, namely the Oresund of Southern Sweden and the Copenhagen region of Denmark (The Medicon Valley). It encompasses a three day conference organised by the Medicon Valley Academy (The Medical Valley BIO Conference); The Connect BioMedical Partnership Forum (organised by Connect Nordica and Connect Baltica) featuring presentations from 54 locally based biotechnology companies; and a trade fair section (BioTech Forum) featuring an exhibition of over 5,000m2 and 300 exhibiting companies.
Within the trade fair there is also space allocated for open stage seminars on subjects ranging from the integration of IT and bioscience through to VC funding and regulatory requirements for the region. This highly successful Scandinavian biotech event attracted more than 3,000 delegates, principally from the region but also from Australia, US, Germany, Scotland and the UK.
