Greater Visibility

Dynamic pharmaceutical logistics are critical to the safe and secure movement of vital, and often expensive, products and equipment to those in need. However, success depends on precise management of a complex supply chain that is regulated at every step. Highly traceable and controlled transport planning is a pivotal element, so how do pharma manufacturers make the most efficient use of resources to minimise cost and achieve regulatory compliance while meeting customer expectations and gaining competitive advantage?

Supply Chain Visibility

The ability to monitor and influence the supply chain at all times is key for pharma manufacturers. A study by Supply Chain Media, involving 67 pharma supply chain executives, found that supply chain visibility was a significant challenge facing the industry, with loss of control and deteriorating service levels also major concerns.

These challenges can be met by a host of connected technology that introduces intelligence and visibility into every step of the healthcare supply chain. In fact, research by GlobalData has claimed that the Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the pharma industry at a rapid pace, with the potential to enhance almost any process within the industry. Spending in software and services is expected to reach £1.7 billion globally by 2020.
