Building Fit-for-Purpose Life Science Infrastructure

The life science and diagnostics industries have never been so vital to health outcomes, both domestically and abroad. Testing, diagnostics, and manufacturing capabilities have been pushed to the limit during the COVID-19 pandemic and the global effort to identify positive cases, find new treatments, and roll out vaccinations against the novel virus en masse.

Having left the emergency phase of the pandemic behind in the UK, it is an important opportunity to review and debate the future of our domestic pharma manufacturing infrastructure including cleanrooms and sterilisation facilities.

Now the focus is to put the UK at the forefront of the life science and diagnostics industries and maintain a world-leading position for years to come, post-COVID-19. However, to continue to excel and lead the way in global scientific advancement, the UK must build on its cleanroom and sterilisation capabilities to create superior pharmaceutical products when it comes to quality, safety, and compliance.
