Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Packing Sourcer
|
Perhaps you could begin by giving a brief overview of the company?
BlisTech Corporation, a division of Berwind Pharmaceutical Services Inc, provides clinical trial packaging solutions that meet the increasingly demanding requirements of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies for shorter lead times, zero-tolerance accuracy, patient compliance and child safety. With global headquarters located in Fairfield, New Jersey, BlisTech has additional facilities in the UK and Singapore.
Drawing from your experiences, how would you compare clinical trials packaging requirements in Europe with the US?
In our experience, a greater percentage of European oral dosage form clinical trial supplies are packaged in blister packages than here in the States. Clinical trial blister packages, film/foil blisters sealed within paperboard cardstock, offer benefits that bottles don't. For example, blister packaging is more portable than bottles. Higher patient compliance has been noted using blisters over bottles. Multiple oral drug regimen dosing for clinical trials is best accomplished by incorporating the different drug products onto a blister card coupled with clear, concise graphics. Site personnel find performing end-study reconciliation easier and less time-consuming using blister cards.
