Preparing for and Responding to Changes in Ownership of your Outsource Provider

Imagine that you are in charge of a multi-million Dollar product, which is critical to your company's future. It was your choice to outsource - your career seems to be on the fast track and nothing can stop you now. Until you hear that the outsource provider you selected has just been acquired or has announced a merger. You begin wondering what will happen to your career.

While this analogy may make light of a potentially serious issue, the fact remains that there have been a plethora of contract parenteral facilities in the US which have changed ownership in the last few years. In this relatively short period of time, Ben Venue, Catalytica, CBL, SP, Cook Pharmaceutical Systems, and most recently PDC, have all announced that they have been acquired or have otherwise changed ownership. This comes at a time when the contract industry is experiencing record growth and revenue levels.
