Manufacturing Traceability Challenges Addressed in Free Webinar

Cimlogic

A free, 45-minute webinar designed to help quality managers throughout the pharmaceutical supply chain use technology to better meet manufacturing traceability regulatory requirements will run on Wednesday 19 November.

The webinar will be hosted by manufacturing execution systems (MES) specialist Cimlogic, a firm with a track record of helping market leaders in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors improve manufacturing operations management and performance.  Participants will also have the opportunity to submit specific traceability concerns or challenges ahead of the event, which will be addressed by MES Consultant Fraser Thomson during the webinar.

Fraser says: “Since last year’s horsemeat scandal – and others – food quality and traceability have been firmly in the spotlight, and the effects are still being felt throughout the supply chain.

“Many manufacturers keep paper records, which are often stored off site.  In today’s stringent audit environment, where spot checks are not unusual, this approach can cost them dearly - both in terms of time and money - for off-site storage and information retrieval.

“Our webinar will help quality managers working in pharmaceutical manufacturing understand the role technology can play in manufacturing traceability: how it can help them store information on site safely and securely; provide quick and easy access; and provide full visibility in key performance areas at the touch of a button.”

Cimlogic is the UK certified partner for the leading real-time operations and performance management software, TrakSYS™, which provides a range of track and trace functions and the ability to increase data accessibility, transparency, and reporting accuracy.

The system enables users to capture and manage critical quality-related events, which in turn allows them to involve and engage key personnel in quality initiatives and improve product and safety/recall responsiveness.  Manufacturers can also use the system’s quality management features to improve electronic record management and meet essential regulatory requirements.

Delivering Fit For Purpose Biomanufacturing CHO Cell Lines

Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies

The challenge during mammalian cell line development is to identify and isolate stable, high expressing cell lines producing product with the appropriate critical product quality attributes rapidly, reproducibly and with relative ease. Obtaining a host cell line that inherently exhibits desirable biomanufacturing attributes can therefore have a significantly positive effect on the identification of recombinant cell lines with desired traits during cell line development screens. In this study, we demonstrate that it is possible to exploit intrinsic heterogeneity within host cell populations and identify host cell lines which are more “fit for purpose”.
