Science, Society & Economics on the Agenda at New Look ICR Annual Conference & Exhibition at New Venue in London
WHO: The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR), the largest professional clinical research body in Europe.
WHAT: The 2010 ICR Annual Spring Conference and Exhibition is taking place at the Hilton London Metropole on 19th and 20th April and will focus on Science, Society and Economics – shaping the future of clinical research. It is attended by a broad range of delegates from across the pharmaceutical industry, academia and the NHS, all looking to keep up to date, make new contacts, renew old acquaintances or cement relationships.
This year’s new-look event will place greater focus on the programme and conference sessions and will incorporate a smaller exhibition area providing delegates with access to a more targeted range of exhibitors.
Closing the conference on day one will be Professor Richard Lilford, of the clinical epidemiology department at the University of Birmingham and Professor Karl Claxton, of the Department of Economics at the University of York. They will be discussing the contentious area of Health Economics, including the processes and ethics involved.
Other confirmed speakers include Emma Butlin, a GCP inspector for the MHRA, and Dr Mark Lewis, a health management and clinical research consultant, who will be looking at translating R&D strategy. In addition, the programme will include sessions covering topics such as medical devices, patient recruitment and paediatric regulations.
WHEN: Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th April at Hilton London Metropole.
Day one of the conference runs from 8.30am to 5.30pm followed by a drinks reception until 7.30pm. Day two starts at 8.30pm and the conference closes at 4.00pm. The full speaker information and conference programme is available here.
