Biotec launches specialist primary packing service
UK-based pharmaceutical services company, Biotec Services International Ltd, has introduced a new MHRA approved primary packing service to meet growing demands from pharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide.
The new primary packing suite will enable the company, which specialises in the supply, storage and distribution of temperature sensitive pharmaceutical and biotech products, to fill tablets and capsules into pots and bottles providing a fast response to clients’ requests for Phase I and early Phase II supplies, also allowing for ‘just in time’ primary packing of clinical trial supplies.
In addition, the new facilities will enhance the company’s ability to manage returned medication from clinical trials, providing full reconciliation of returned tablets and capsules, opening bottles, pots and blisters and the counting of unused materials.
The MHRA approved service can also be provided by Biotec on a Named Patient (Specials)or Compassionate Use basis.
Rachel Griffiths, Operations Director for Biotec Services International, said, “The GMP-compliant primary packing service responds to the needs of a growing client base and provides companies with a full clinical supply service, from packing and kit assembly, through to distribution, returns and destruction.
“We have removed the need for product specific cleaning validation protocols by using disposable equipment in packing operations and so the service is far more cost effective for clients. The service will not only prove hugely beneficial for existing clients, but also for potential clients, who are in search of a more complete clinical supply service provider”.
