The availability of cells at all times is a critical bottleneck in drug screening campaigns. Assay-ready frozen cells therefore have become a valid alter-native to cells from a continuous growing culture in order to avoid this bottleneck.
CCS Cell Culture Service was one of the first suppliers of Frozen Instant Cells for global pharmaceutical research. Years of experience makes CCS a reliable outsourcing partner, capable of fulfilling even your most challenging projects.
Cells are expanded to bulk quantities of 10 billion cells in a batch applying tightly controlled culture conditions. After a gentle harvest, the cells are automatically filled into vials or plates and frozen in a controlled rate freezer. This fast processing is critical for maintaining the quality of Frozen Instant Cells.
Transient Bulk Transfection
Transient transfection is often considered an alternative to the time consuming generation of stable recombinant cell lines.
CCS now offers flow electroporation as a unique service which provides both efficacy and scalability to transfect 10 billion cells in less than 30 minutes. Combining an innovative technology with CCS’s 10 years of expertise, cell lines, primary cells, and stem cells are reproducibly transfected while maintaining the integrity of the cells for subsequent assays.
Bulk quantities of assay-ready Frozen Instant Cells which are transiently expressing targets of interest are rapidly prepared and supplied on demand.
Membrane Preparation
For ligand binding assays, CCS provides the preparation of cell membranes in bulk. Cells are homogenized by nitrogen decompression, a method which does not heat the cells. Membranes are purified by a dual step high speed centrifugation protocol, and provided in aliquots which suit the requirement of your assay.
All batches of cells and cell based products are carefully controlled for their function and quality before shipment.
