Nemera to build state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Poland to serve more customers and patients

Based in Szczecin, this facility extends Nemera’s manufacturing capabilities and will bring more drug delivery device solutions to patients.

Following the dynamic growth of the drug delivery devices market, as a world leader, Nemera is thrilled to extend its manufacturing capabilities in Poland.

The construction of the new facility is a next step after the strategic acquisition of Copernicus in 2020 to bolster production capabilities, R&D expertise and extend our product offering.

The foundation stone of the manufacturing site was laid during a ceremony in the presence of Nemera’s leaders, state and local authorities, investment partners, academics and other stakeholders.

“This is a historic moment for us. The new facility, which is a first block of a three-fold masterplan, will support Nemera’s overall forecasted growth as well as contribute to infrastructure development in the region. More importantly, it’ll help us serve more customers and patients in and around these markets.” said Marc Hämel, CEO of Nemera.

Sébastian Perrier, Chief Operating Officer of Nemera, added: “I am very pleased to be here today. Our new facility will be capable of developing prototypes, produce small series for clinical batches as well as large scale automated volumes. Initially focused on injection devices, we’ll extend manufacturing and development across different delivery routes.”

State-of-the-art facility in Poland.

The new production plant is being built on an area of 5 hectares with dedicated expandable clean room space (starting with 3400 m2) for injection and assembly of existing and new devices. The manufacturing facility will also harbour research and development resources to support design and prototyping of new devices in an integrated way. The entire infrastructure is designed with state-of-the-art solutions, materials and technology to ensure maximum quality and safety of our products. It is also designed with the highest sustainability standards and will be BREEAM certified.

“We’re excited to reveal our new manufacturing facility, the first of its kind in Poland, by next fall. We want to provide the best possible working environment for our people.” said Alberto Lozano, Director of Nemera Szczecin.

Developing local talent.

Currently, Nemera Szczecin employs 120 people, and this number is growing. In the next few years, we aim to triple our workforce. By 2025, Nemera Szczecin envisages 350 new talents at the facility with expertise in mechanics, mechatronics, automation, plastics technologies as well as project management and design.

Soothing the Logistical Headache of Clinical Trials

Equilibrium Travel Management

As many as 30 per cent of subjects on phase three clinical studies drop out.  Gruelling schedules, high travel costs and time waiting for expense reimbursement can all be factors in these fall rates, and this can be very problematic, delaying or even leading to the cancellation of the trial.  It is crucial to keep subjects motivated, and through efficient travel and expense management, this can be achieved.
