Team Consulting expands facilities to meet client demand

Team Consulting

To meet growing client demand, Team Consulting, a medical device design and development consultancy based in Ickleton, Cambridge, has expanded its facilities to now offer over 5,500 sq ft of lab spaces. Based in the picturesque 13th century Abbey Barns site, the company’s expansion sees the addition of a whole new building with several high-spec lab spaces, design facilities and collaborative workspaces.

“At Team Consulting, we have always prided ourselves on our innovative lab spaces and state-of-the-art equipment, however this expansion means we can offer even greater flexibility to meet client requests, whether they need strict confidentiality or specialist requirements,” said Ian Vaughan, Project Manager, Device Testing.

Team Consulting’s on-site facilities includes two environmental labs for tight control of temperature and humidity, electronics labs with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls and test equipment, as well as bespoke containment solutions for handling and testing drug formulations for inhaled, ocular and parenteral devices. In line with the expansion, the medical device consultancy is also continuing to grow its device testing and consulting teams to offer greater flexibility for its clients.

“We have to ensure that any device we produce is safe for people to use, meaning it’s important for us to gather evidence that the product or concept works as it should. This applies from the initial concept all the way through to preparing the product for clinical use or market launch,” said Brian Daly, Device Testing Consultant.

Having ramped up its on-site presence following the easing of government restrictions, the consultancy is now welcoming visitors to see their state-of-the-art facilities in person.

Biosimilars In Emerging Markets: Is It A Level Playing Field?

PRA Health Sciences (PRA)

Governments, healthcare payers, and social and health reforms, combined with the increased incidence of conditions such as cancer and diabetes are paving the way for increased uptake of biologic medicines in emerging markets. However, expensive biologic medicines can be prohibitive to many patients, creating a high level of unmet clinical need. At its best, the global expansion of biosimilars can mean a robust and steady supply of existing and new drugs reaching far-flung patient populations, but localized biosimilar drug developments, especially in China and India, combined with a lack of robust pharmacovigilance systems, threaten to derail the industry by putting patient health at risk.
