November 20, 2016 – Other

The organisers of Chemspec South East Asia – Thailand, Mack Brooks Exhibitions Asia Ltd, have teamed up with the Chemical Industry Club (CIC) of the Federation of Thai Industries of Thailand in order to bring the world-renowned Chemspec exhibition to South East Asia in 2016. Chemspec is the worldís leading series of exhibitions for manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of fine and speciality chemicals to meet with purchasers and agents looking for specific products or bespoke solutions.

Chemspec South East Asia will take place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok from the 30th November to 1st December 2016.

During a signing ceremony held at the CIC base at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre on the 26th January, the agreement between Mack Brooks Exhibitions Asia Ltd and CIC was put in place. The goal of the cooperation is to ensure that the Thai chemical industry will become a focal point for the development of the fine and speciality chemical market in South East Asia. During the ceremony, Michael Wilton, Exhibition Director of Mack Brooks Exhibitions Asia Ltd, stated that ‘Chemspec is a trusted and valued exhibition that has a track record of delivering what the industry needs. Over the course of 31 years that the exhibition has been in existence, key suppliers and buyers continue to return to boost their businesses for the coming year, and to stay in touch with the latest technologies and products. We are delighted to be working closely with the industry in South East Asia, and in particular the Chemical Industry Club of Thailand, to ensure that best interests of the industry are served and that the event becomes not only a focal point for the development of the industry in the region, but also the meeting point for suppliers and buyers of specific, tailor-made chemicals.’

CIC president Mahabir Koder commented: ‘We are very happy to be supporting Mack Brooks Exhibitions Asia Ltd in bringing the Chemspec exhibition to Bangkok. We are committed to the growth and continual development of the industry in Thailand and we will support our members in participating in this exhibition’. At the signing ceremony, Raj Khimesra, advisor to CIC, congratulated Mack Brooks Exhibitions Asia Ltd for their initiative and pointed out that Chemspec will contribute to the development of Thailand as a hub for the chemical industry in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

The Chemspec South East Asia – Thailand exhibition will provide a platform for the industry across the ASEAN region and beyond, to meet, trade, discuss and develop performance chemical supplies for the region. One of the strengths of Chemspec exhibitions is to enable suppliers to arrange meetings with key buyers in a structured, confidential and professional environment. This will be the focus of the South East Asia edition in 2016.

The mother show Chemspec Europe attracts some 400 exhibitors and 5,800 buyers of fine and speciality chemicals. Eleven years ago, Chemspec was successfully introduced to the Indian market and has grown substantially ever since, now boasting over 250 exhibitors and 12,500 qualified visitors. South East Asia is viewed as an important growth market for chemical suppliers, and Chemspec South East Asia – Thailand will support and enhance growth in this region.

The organisers received some very encouraging, initial feedback from associations planning to participate in group pavilions, such as Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics Export Promotion Council India (Chemexil), China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the Chemical Industries Association UK (CIA). In addition to that, major suppliers from Europe who are looking to extend their presence in the South East Asian market are also taking an interest in the show.

Stand reservations for Chemspec South East Asia have already started. Since there is limited availability, suppliers of performance and speciality chemicals who are looking to exhibit at the show should contact the organisers as soon as possible in order to secure stand space.
