Wuerzburg, 5 September 2016: va-Q-tec, a leading provider of highly efficient tech products and solutions in the field of thermal insulation, has opened a new Fulfillment Centre for its Serviced Rental business at the Companyís headquarters in Wuerzburg. Here, various high-performance packaging systems, from thermal transport boxes to airfreight containers, are prepared for each customerís transport requirements to be handed over ready to use. Healthcare companies, who are particularly dependent on secure and reliable cold chain logistics, are exhibiting strong demand for this service. In the new Wuerzburg Fulfillment Centre, over an area of 2,500 square meters, up to 10,000 packaging systems with 11 to 74 litres interior volume and 400 containers with a cargo capacity of up to two US / Euro pallets can be made available for temperature controlled transport per month.
The passive high-performance packaging systems require no external energy sources during transport and enable, for example, the secure transport of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and biotech products. Various temperature ranges between -60∞C (or even below) and +40∞C are available. Through the integration of high performance packages and the respective pre-conditioning services from the Fulfillment Centre, the transport goods can be maintained in the desired temperature range within 24 and 200 hours, according to demand – even in extreme climatic ambient conditions.

Within its Serviced Rental business, va-Q-tec offers the rental of thermal containers and multi-use boxes and provides ancillary services such as preconditioning, cleaning, sterilization or temperature tracking. Such containers and boxes allow for a deviation-free transport of temperature sensitive goods with extremely simple handling and minimum operating costs for the customers. In close cooperation with leading logistics partners, va-Q-tec ensures that the packaging systems are delivered to the right pickup location at the agreed time and preconditioned to the desired temperature, so that they can be loaded as planned and sent to the final consignee. After delivery, the logistics company takes care of the return of the empty containers to the respective va-Q-tec Fulfillment Centre. The service is available nationally and internationally. In the va-Q-tec Fulfillment Centre, the containers and boxes are cleaned upon return, sterilized and technically checked before they are brought into circulation again.
The award-winning thermal packaging solutions of va-Q-tec are optimal for compliance with regulations such as the Good Distribution Practice (GDP). They are qualified on international standards such as ISTA. More than 1 million container and box deliveries have been made to date with no temperature deviations from the required range from the start to the end of shipment.
