What happens beyond thermal performance?
September 15, 2026 – –
How much does packaging footprint affect freight costs? When does reuse make sense and when is recycling the better option? At FlyPharma Europe 2026, visitors to Booth 8 can explore how packaging decisions influence efficiency, cost and sustainability across the wider pharmaceutical supply chain.
Voorhout, Netherlands, 15 September 2026 – Topa Thermal will be exhibiting at FlyPharma Europe 2026, taking place on 6-7 October at the Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport, where thermal packaging specialist Topa Thermal will be inviting visitors to explore how thermal packaging decisions can influence efficiency, cost and sustainability across the wider pharmaceutical supply chain.
As pharmaceutical manufacturers and logistics providers face increasing pressure to improve sustainability, manage transport costs and maintain product protection, organisations are being asked to consider a wider range of factors when selecting thermal packaging solutions.
At Booth 8, Topa Thermal will be exploring some of the industry’s key challenges, including freight efficiency, packaging footprint, material innovation, and how packaging can be reused or recycled after delivery.
One of the highlights on the stand will be Connex OVERWRAP, Topa Thermal’s low-footprint pallet shipper. Visitors will be able to compare the footprint, volumetric weight, billable weight and estimated transport-related emissions of a range of pharmaceutical pallet shippers, helping to illustrate how packaging design can influence both freight costs and environmental performance when shipments are repeated at scale.
“Thermal performance remains essential, but it’s only part of the conversation,” says Richard Harrop, Product Director at Topa Thermal. “Many organisations are now looking more closely at how packaging choices affect the wider supply chain, from freight efficiency and operational practicality through to reuse, recycling and sustainability.”
Visitors will also be able to learn more about Connex 7D, Topa Thermal’s insulated shipper range for pharmaceutical distribution. Designed for demanding temperature-controlled shipments, Connex 7D offers extended thermal protection across a variety of shipment sizes, helping pharmaceutical companies balance thermal performance with operational practicality.
In addition, the company will be showcasing EZCODE, its press-activated cooling parcel developed to simplify the shipment of temperature-sensitive samples. Designed for convenience and ease of use, EZCODE provides instant cooling without the need for refrigeration, charging or specialist preparation.
Alongside these solutions, Topa Thermal will be discussing ongoing developments in thermal packaging materials and exploring how different approaches to reuse and recycling can support future supply chains. Visitors will have the opportunity to discuss some of the industry’s emerging questions, including when packaging should be recovered for reuse, when local recycling may be more practical, and how packaging choices influence the wider supply chain.
Visitors are invited to meet the Topa Thermal team, including Jacques le Comte and Bastiaan van Egmond, to discuss current challenges in pharmaceutical temperature-controlled logistics and explore practical approaches to improving supply chain performance.
FlyPharma Europe 2026 takes place on 6-7 October 2026 at the Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport, Denmark. Visit Topa Thermal at Booth 8 to continue the conversation.
